First of all Congratulation to you  and  lots of love with blessing to your child !!!!….for such indeed good news.

Now you might be thinking

OK ….but what should I do next??

How would be my next 9 month journey??

What all should I need to know to ensure my normal healthy delivery ??

I will answer all your query in this blog and will  try to ensure clearing all your doubts related to  trimester pregnancy.

So lets start with some basic facts

Trimester Pregnancy –

Its meaning, stages and weeks

You might have heard this word often and I am sure you already have some Idea about it but let me put some fact about it that mine gynecologist told me during my pregnancy period.

Pregnancy has three trimesters of approximately 40 weeks from the first day of your last period.

40 Weeks time is globally accepted period of normal pregnancy but no one can predict the exact date and time of delivery.  Some little angel also born in 38 weeks while some meet the world in 42 weeks which is also consider as normal time of delivery .

Symptoms

Due to hormonal changes in your body each week you feel something new and different. There are many symptoms that one can relate to  trimester pregnancy  but few one that all of us experience during this period  are-

First trimester( Pregnancy first 12 weeks)

  • Vomiting and Nausea
  • Increased sense of smell
  • Frequent swing in mood

 

Second Trimester ( Pregnancy 13 to 26 Weeks)

  • Paint at round ligament
  • Stretch marks and also feel changes in breast
  • Best part you start noticing your baby movement

 

Third trimester  ( Pregnancy 27th  Week onward till the delivery)

  • Urination frequency increase
  • Feet get swollen
  • Baby movement increase along with his kicks.

 Diet??

Your Diet must be specific as your trimester stages as it has direct impact on your baby growth and development .I would discuss it with specific detail in my next blog , for the time being I  will recommend you to increase content of below mention food item in your diet

  • Legumes such as lentils, peas, beans,chickpeas, soybeans and peanuts
  • Dairy products such as milk , cheese and specially Yogurt
  • Green Vegetables such as broccoli ,spinach etc
  • Lean Meat for high protein
  • Salmon
  • Eggs
  • Fish Liver oil
  • Whole grain
  • Dry fruits
  • Sweet Potatoes
  • Water is most important -you should avoid any type of dehydration.

Do eat only those food which you liked. One should not force herself to eat food  which she is not comfortable with.  I recommend you should consult with your doctor/dietician before finalizing any diet chart to ensure your proper nutrition requirement.

Exercise??

Exercise is as important as diet in pregnancy  but you should avoid doing heavy exercise during pregnancy as sometimes it cause few pregnancy related complication however you can do some light exercise such as

  • Walking in slow pace
  • curl and lift light weights in arm ( not more than 5kg)
  • swimming
  • yoga

I recommend to do exercise with low impact only as per your comfort level . You should stop or avoid doing any exercise if you felt uncomfortable at any moment.
