A first Christmas tree story and its origin

A first Christmas tree story

It was a cold night in the 16th century, when German preacher Martin Luther was on his way back home from the woods on Christmas Eve. While walking he saw something shining far away, after looking carefully he saw stars shining through the tree branches and one star shining above the tree looked as if Jesus Christ had left heaven to come to earth at Christmas. It was so beautiful that on seeing it German preacher Martin Luther decided and took a tree to his house and tried to show the same scene to his family by decorating the tree with candles. This way Jesus christ gifted us the first Christmas tree on 16th century Christmas Eve.

Christmas tree – Historical Origin

Some historian believe that Christmas tree origin is related to “ADAM and EVE feast day” that was celebrated by germans on 24th December . In late 15th century German decorate a tree in their room with waferas as a symbol of Paradise tree in the Garden of Eden . In the same room they also keep a “Christmas pyramid,” a triangular construction of wood that had shelves to hold Christmas figurines and decorat with evergreens, candles, and a star. later after few hundred years germans started merging both the Christmas pyramid and the paradise tree together which latter took a shape of Christmas tree that we use in our home today’s.

When was Christmas tree become the part of chirstmas celebration?

The Christmas tree had been a tradition in many German homes much earlier however the Christmas tree was popularized in the mid-19th century by the German-born Prince Albert, husband of Queen Victoria. That Christmas tree was called the Queen Victoria tree. The tree was decorated with lots of toys and small gifts, candles, candies, popcorn strings and fancy cakes hung from branches by ribbons and paper chains. The Christmas tree was brought to North America by German settlers in the early 17th century, but, till the 1840s Christmas trees were seen as pagan symbols and not accepted by most Americans. Its only in late 19th and early 20th century it was accepted as the symbol of Christanity and part of christmas celebration.
